As Mumbai gets its new public transit systems built into its urban fabric the architectural design of the monorail stops will add a dynamic visual addition to this density.  The architectural design for all the monorail stations from Gadge Maharaj Chowk to Chembur via Wadala  were  an opportunity for this sequential  statement to be made complete architectural design, development, construction, operation and maintenance of Monorail System in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.  The journey to the finalisation of the design was as interesting as the built project. This entailed preparation of preliminary design and engagement with the client for working out the detailed drawings, to hard wearing finishes and services using 3D models and walkthrough presentations to LTSE for approvals. The final output, are an array of buildings on a raised landscape that interact with the city’s skyline as a versatile display of materials and active services intersecting with each other.
